Hi! This is the first Save Point, the Retirement Plan Games newsletter. Thanks for saving your progress with us.
Once a month at most, I’ll share what came out that month: devlogs, behind the scenes, dates and, when there are any, invitations to try the games before everyone else. October was the month everything got off the ground, so here we go.
The website is live
On the 16th, retirementplangames.com launched with the first game’s page, the news and this newsletter. The first post explains what the studio is, why it exists and where the idea for COLD VAULT came from: a turn-based strategy game for 1 to 4 players, where factions fight over data stored in Vaults inside a network.
COLD VAULT has a website

Ten days later, the game got an address of its own: playcoldvault.com, in English and Portuguese. It has the four factions fighting over the same network, the fact sheet and the gallery. News and devlogs still live on the Retirement Plan site.
An AI that refuses to clone games

Users report that Claude Opus 5.5 has started cutting off reverse-engineering requests, right as more and more indie games get decompiled and republished by someone else shortly after launch. Anthropic hasn’t confirmed any change, but as a game dev and a software dev, I think this guardrail is very welcome. In the post, I explain why and share a few tips for indie devs, including anyone about to release a demo.
Let’s talk
If you’d like to chat about COLD VAULT or about making games, the Retirement Plan Discord is open. And if you reply to this email, it comes straight to me.
See you next issue.
